Who’s behind the mask?

That’s the question everyone will be asking when mysterious celebrities belt it out on stage for the upcoming season of the Fox hit singing competition, The Masked Singer. Like previous years, the fourth season of the show—set to premiere on Wednesday—will include celebrity contestants decked out in the most bizarre costumes as the compete for the champion title and be the last to have their identities revealed.

While the show will keep up with its same format, viewers can expect to see a few new twists. Who are the Season 4 judges?

Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke are back in their seats at the judges’ panel where they’ll likely be blown away by over-the-top performances and totally stumped while trying to guess what celebrity is hiding behind the masks. Meanwhile, Nick Cannon will return to his post as the show’s host.

Are there new characters?

Season 3 saw the likes of The Night Angel—who turned out to be Real Housewives album Kandi Burruss and the winner of the competition—along with characters like The Rhino, The Frog, The Kitty, The Astronaut, The Banana and several others. And Season 4 is expected to deliver a range of even more bizarre characters like twin Snow Owls, Broccoli, Popcorn, Crocodile, Gremlin, Jellyfish, Seahorse, Whatchamacallit, Squiggly Monster, Sun, Dragon and an adorable Baby Alien.

Craig Plestis, executive producer of the show, told Deadline that Season 4 could be the weirdest one yet. «I want to increase the bonkers level and keep the production values up,» he said. «There are things that you’re going to see in [Season 4] that you haven’t seen anywhere else, not only here but anywhere in the globe.

Of course, viewers won’t know who’s wearing the costumes until contestants are eliminated.

What are the major show changes?

For the most part, The Masked Singer will flow in the same way. A costumed contestant will sing a song and drop clues to help judges and viewers guess their identities over the course of 13 episodes. However, this time around there are more celebrities—a total of 16, who will be broken into three groups. The remaining two contestants from each group will make up the Super Six, who will compete in a two-hour special on December 13. From there, the top three will go on to the finale.

People at home will get to participate in all the Season 4 action too. Super-fans will be able to watch performances as part of the virtual audience and vote for their favorite acts. The virtual votes will help determine which masked singer gets to move forward in the competition along with the usual judge votes.

Speaking of the judges, they’ve got more work this season too. They’ll be competing against each other to determine what celebrity is hiding in each costume. After each masked performance, judges will write down the name of the celebrity they think is hiding under the costume for a chance at winning the Golden Ear trophy. Their answers will be revealed during each elimination round, and the judge with the most accurate guesses will be deemed the winner.

When does The Masked Singer air?

The singing competition will premiere on Fox on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
